FAQs
The rookie cards we select for our lists are judged based on 3 criteria:
- Design / Aesthetics
- Price
- Rarity
At Sports Card Sharks, we tend to go against the grain. We typically aren’t buying what everyone else is buying when everyone else is buying it, so if you’re moving with the masses this may not be the right list for you. Adios!
Our Founder is an 80's baby that grew up in the 90's collecting sports cards during the junk wax era.
While card collecting when on hiatus for a couple of decades, that passion was re-sparked in 2020 and we haven't looked back since.
We spend countless hours researching each player and constructing these posts to help you save time and energy so that you can focus on the fun part which is collecting!
Why We Love Luis Robert
- He absolutely dominated every single level of minor league baseball
- He reminds us of Ken Griffey Jr
- He's a 5-tool player with 40/40 potential
- Gold Glove winner in his rookie year
Our List of the Top Luis Robert Rookies and Prospect Cards
1. 2018 Bowman Chrome Prospects Luis Robert #BCP21
The Luis Robert Bowman Chrome Prospects rookie card is reminiscent of the 1989 Ken Griffey Jr Upper Deck rookie.
Something about that smile just reminds us of "The Kid."
Bowman 1st tends to be the most sought-after baseball rookie card these days for modern cards.

2. 2020 Topps Five Star Rookie Luis Robert #FSA-LR
The design on these cards are sweet. Couple that with the on-card autograph and you have yourself a nice little Luis Robert rookie card.
The gold base is equally as cool but we personally like the blue border with the blue signature.
Also Check Out: Vladimir Guerrero Jr
3. 2020 Topps Gypsy Queen Luis Robert #122
A lot of collectors seem to have a LOVE/HATE relationship with the Topps Gypsy Queen set. We personally think they look sick.
The filter that Topps chose to use on the images just gives it an old school feel that can't be matched.
Also Check Out: Ken Griffey Jr
4. 2020 Luis Robert Topps Chrome Update Sapphire #U-216
The Sapphire set for both Bowman and Topps are incredible.
Also Check Out: Mike Trout
5. 2020 Luis Robert Topps Fire #155
The Topps Fire set is definitely flashy. Those pops of pink, purple, and blue remind us of a Miami Heat uniform or something.
This is a low-end card and it appears as though not many collectors are sending them in for grading so the POP reports are pretty low.
Also Check Out: Shohei Ohtani
6. 2020 Luis Robert Topps Chrome #60
Bowman Chrome and Topps Chrome are pretty much the 1a and 1b of baseball card collecting and investing so naturally this Luis Robert Topps Chrome rookie card made our list.
Also Check Out: Mark McGwire
7. 2020 Luis Robert Topps #392
Since the Topps Chrome made the list, you know we had to add the base rookie as well.
Also Check Out: Ozzie Smith
8. 2020 Luis Robert Bowman Chrome Sapphire Edition #BCP150
Another Sapphire makes this list. These cards are so baller, just like Robert.
Also Check Out: Doc Gooden
9. 2020 Luis Robert Select #141
Fair warning, Panini isn't licensed by the MLB so they aren't allowed to use team logos on their cards, so collectors tend to shy away.
This card looks so cool that we simply couldn't resist highlighting it.
The price points on these are pretty low so I recommend buying the graded if possible.
Also Check Out: Ronald Acuna Jr
10. 2020 Luis Robert Finest Flashbacks #59
We've always loved Topps Finest dating all the way back to the 1995 Kevin Garnett (one of us is a Timberwolves fan).
It looks like Topps caught a home run swing for this one!
Also Check Out: Bryce Harper
11. 2020 Luis Robert Diamond Kings #95
Another Panini card makes the list. We're big fans of the Court Kings set on the NBA side so naturally we have some love for the Diamond Kings on the MLB side as well.
Also Check Out: Julio Rodriguez
12. 2020 Luis Robert Bowman #18
The Luis Robert Bowman rookie card is simple and classic.
For anyone that might be new to the hobby, these types of cards are called "paper."

We love the vintage look and feel of the Topps Archives Luis Robert rookie. It seriously looks like it belongs in another decade!

Not sure how you left out 2020 topps opening day 201. It was a 1 per case short print that was added after production had already started, and is the true topps rookie as far as many are concerned. Add the fact that they are very hard to find in good condition, and you have a real gem there…also, where's the 2020 topps heritage nickname version??
Thanks for reading Dustin! We love the suggestions and we're going to consider adding your suggestions to our list. Look out for updates soon.
