Like many star players before him, Tyrese Maxey was a McDonald's All-American and was also named Texas Mr. Basketball in high school.
As a 5-star recruit, Maxey went on to play college ball at the University of Kentucky where he set a record for most points in a debut by a freshman in school history - scoring 26 points off the bench.
After the COVID-19 pause, Tyrese declared for the NBA Draft and was selected 21st overall by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Maxey was quickly forced into the spotlight due to player shortages from COVID-19 as well as a Ben Simmons injury.
Since that time, Maxey has flourished as Philadelphia's point guard and has been incredibly exciting to watch.
