Michael Jordan is widely considered to be the greatest basketball player of all time.

Born in 1963 in Brooklyn, New York, Jordan began playing basketball at an early age and quickly developed into a star player in high school.

He went on to play for the University of North Carolina, where he led the team to a national championship in 1982.

After graduating from college, Jordan was drafted by the Chicago Bulls and quickly emerged as one of the league's premier players.

During his time with the Bulls, Jordan won six NBA championships and was named the league's Most Valuable Player five times.

He also became a global icon, appearing in commercials and movies and becoming one of the most recognizable athletes in the world.

In 1998, Jordan retired from basketball and pursued a career in baseball. However, he returned to the NBA two years later and helped lead the Washington Wizards to playoff appearances in 2002 and 2003.
